CoolSculpting Hurts
That whole idea that we gain nothing without pain is malarkey. We do not ascribe to the motto of “no pain, no gain.” Neither do our CoolSculpting patients. What patients report as they undergo their fat-freezing treatments is that they feel a brief period of an oddly uncomfortable sensation as their fat is sucked into the applicator. The cold that works on fat cells is pretty intense, we won’t mince words here. However, because of this, the sensation quickly moves from “wow, that’s cold” to numbness. This progression occurs within 10 minutes or less, after which point the rest of treatment is a breeze.
What about after treatment?
After CoolSculpting, the crystallization of fat and reinvigoration of the nerves that had gone numb during the procedure can lead to soreness and/or tenderness. Some patients find gentle massage helpful. Our staff may be able to offer additional strategies to maintain comfort after CoolSculpting.
CoolSculpting is for the Tummy Only
